Critical, Convergent Thinking (C#1) Critical thinking is a process of digging into a task. The problem solver selects and uses critical / convergent skills to drill down into the task to find the accurate answer, work with precision, be logical, play by the rules, be objective, be analytical – such processes include: organize, classify, compare/contrast, cause/effect, generalize, make connection(s), infer, predict, analyze, advocate, debate, evaluate, judge, assess, rate, etc. A natural body language which represents critical, convergent thinking is to move our hands together and forward away from our bodies like we were “diving into” the task. This body language gesture helps us “feel and see” the convergent process and how it is different from the creative, divergent process.
